¡ #FLOWRSBYPICNIQUETTE is back!
Picniquette and FLOWRS* have been taking you for a walk (you can see here all the previous posts) through the amazing world of the flowers in season every month and FEBRUARY cannot be dedicated to anything else but the wonderful and rich Mimosas… a flower in season just for this month! FLOWRS as usual pick them and I shoot!
Let me introduce to the flower of February: Mimosa!
In my country, Italy, as in other few like Russia for instance, this flower is well known as this bouquet you get used to gift to women on the 8th of March for the woman day, right? The truth is its life is really short and its beauty overwhelming. Its tiny balls, like you can see in the pics, don’t last too long. But also when the plant is dry remains visually incredible. And it smells sooo good!
Mimosas family includes herbaceous plants , shrubs , and trees.
The most curious species of the family is the Mimosa pudica is simply known as ” mimosa pudica” or”touch-me-not”, because of the way that moves its leaves when touched or exposed to heat; but there are many other species that do the same at sunset.
It is a highly branched evergreen of max.10-12m high, the family Fabaceae ornamental tree and shrub. Bipinnate leaves with 25-40 leaflets.
Inflorescence globose glomerulus ( approx 25 flowers ) , yellow and very fragrant .
Light, change water daily
Caring and sensivity
